The review process consists of the following steps.
1. Abstract review. All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed. Abstracts will be reviewed based on their scope, scientific quality, originality of the research, and understandability to the NDRS audience.
2. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit an extended abstract for a second review round. Extended abstracts will be reviewed on the same criteria as employed for the abstracts plus additional criteria such as structure, research methodology, validity of the results, and scientific contribution. The deadline for extended abstracts is 7 May 2017.
3. Extended Abstracts that are above a marking threshold (Excellent, e.g. 4/5) will be invited to submit full papers for a special issue of the journal Safety Science (impact factor 2.2).
